M. Akib Latuconsina  adalah  Gubernur Maluku  periode 1993-1998. Ia menjadi Gubernur  Maluku  menggantikan  Sebastian Soekoso . Ia menamatkan pendidikan di Fakultas Ekonomi,  Universitas Hasanuddin , kemudian bekerja pada pemerintah provinsi Maluku. Memulai karier di Bank Pembangunan Daerah kemudian pernah menjadi Ketua Bappeda, Sekwilda dan terakhir Wakil Gubernur Maluku. Beliau adalah anak ke- 2 dari 5  bersaudara, lahir di dusun ORY, pulau Haruku, maluku, Indonesia. B eliau adalah anak dari Muhammad yasim Latuconsina dan Hj. Nindahat. Ayahnya adalah seorang petani yang bertani setiap harinya dibantu oleh sang I bu  untuk kelangsungan keluarga. The first time i met him..
