Bluespace is the result of a unique venture between the IBM coporation and Steelcase, a U.S. company that specializes in the design an architecture of office spaces. Together they have explored the potential for combining office furnitures and microprocessors to create an intelligent workspace. Researchers at the bluespace project believe that changes in the nature of work require new solutions and they aim to create an office space which takes account of the transitions of new information technologies. Today employees do different kinds or work during office hours; sometimes they may need total privacy but at other moments they may neef to collaboratively in team and the objective if bluespace is to allow a smooth impact between two environments. As Mark Grenier, vice president of the researcher department, says “With Bluespace we're discovering new ways of providing person with flexibility and control of their workspace.“
